From the Flame of Battle to the Fiery Cross: The 3rd Tennessee Infantry with Complete Roster

Using primary documents, including the Tennessee Rollbook, accounts written by regimental soldiers, and official reports, Van Eldik (a specialist in historic firearms) reconstructs a blow-by-blow military history of the 3d Tennessee volunteer regiment (later transferred into Confederate service). In addition to the regiment's military exploits, Van Eldik includes the story of the invention of the Ku Klux Klan by some of its members, and the career of its general, John C. Brown.
